Lincoln chasing a personal record

19-11-2008
Lincoln is on his way to score more goals than ever before in one season.

Galatasaray’s fans have become used to the sight of Lincoln celebrating a goal this season. The Brazilian is currently Galatasaray’s leading scorer in the Turkish league with six goals. Harry Kewell and Milan Baros have both scored five times.

Lincoln’s scoring form this season has been that impressive that it is possible that he will beat his own goal scoring record for a season.

This season is Lincoln’s eighth in Europe, and his personal record is the 12 goals in the German Bundesliga in the 2004/05 season with Schalke 04. This means that Lincoln will have to score at least seven goals in the last 23 league matches this season to set a new personal scoring record.

Lincoln’s league goals in Europe:

  • 2001/02 Kaiserslautern 8
  • 2002/03 Kaiserslautern 2
  • 2003/04 Kaiserslautern 2
  • 2004/05 Schalke 04 12
  • 2005/06 Schalke 04 5
  • 2006/07 Schalke 04 3
